Tali can be used on desktop and laptop computers, iOS and Android devices. We support mostly chrome browsers on Windows, Mac and Linux, however, our extension can be used unofficially on Microsoft Edge as well.
Yes, Tali requires your desktop or laptop to have access to a microphone. However, it doesn't need to be a sophisticated device -- the microphone you would use for a normal video conference will do the job. If your setup doesn't have a microphone, you can always use our iOS or Android app as a microphone and we sync all of your notes with your desktop computers.
AI Scribe generates a structured SOAP note or Consult note from either a spoken summary of the visit, or from listening to the conversation with the patient. This feature is sometimes referred to as AI Medical Scribe or Medical Co-pilot.
Tali is a very lightweight technology and it can easily be installed with a click of a button. In less than 5 minutes you can install Tali and to start using it for free. We have also designed Tali in a way that doesn’t require any training. Once you have Tali installed, the Ambient Scribe, Medical Dictation, Medical Search (and EHR Assistant on OSCAR Pro) skills are available immediately and are very intuitive and simple to use.
If needed, you can contact us anytime at help@tali.ai for assistance, or just record your question by clicking the 'Provide Feedback' button in the sidebar.

Yes, as long as your headset’s microphone is connected to your computer, you can use Tali’s voice functionalities. Also, note that it doesn't need to be a sophisticated device -- the microphone you might use for a normal video conference will suffice.
Absolutely! Tali will recognize common punctuation (commas, periods, parentheses, and so on), commands like 'new line' or 'new paragraph'. Just try it out! A full list can be found in our scribe commands list resource

Improvements to the algorithm are deployed every few days and you will experience the algorithm performing better instantly. Improvements to the product (feature enhancements or new features) are deployed once every two weeks, as we want to make sure we run proper quality assurance on the product before making it available to physicians at the point of care. These changes will often be invisible to you and will rarely, if ever, require any action on your part.
Yes, absolutely.
The only difference is that with the integrated version, you do not need to download anything. The underlying product is the same.
The EHR Assistant will open any form or e-form enabled on your instance of OSCAR Pro.
There will be a small button labeled ‘Tali’ in the bottom right-hand corner. Click on that and the widget will reappear. You may need to log out of OSCAR and back in again.
With one of the highest performing voice solutions for clinicians, Tali is not only more accurate than its competitors but it is immediately ready to start using once downloaded, with the microphone you already have. You can download and start using our Medical Dictation, Ambient Scribe, Medical Search and EHR Assistant functionalities free of charge.
Tali’s language model is trained using state-of-the-art Natural Language Processing (NLP) algorithms on a multitude of medical resources and guidelines and as a result, it picks up medical terminology and abbreviations a lot more intelligently than a non-specialized voice-to-text solution. In addition, we have gathered a growing set of audio files from different accents reading medical notes to fine-tune our algorithm and make it more efficient, which will be a bonus if you are experiencing difficulties with your accent in other dictation and scribe solutions.
Tali directly integrates with leading healthcare EHRs like Healthquest, TELUS Health Med Access, TELUS Health PS Suite, Practice Fusion and Oscar Pro. Just ask us about setting these up.
Even without existing technical integrations, Tali is compatible with all EHRs. Simply install Tali, and its core features (Ambient Scribe, Medical Dictation and Medical Search) will be available, including the ability to dictate directly into your EHR. The EHR Assistant is compatible with OSCAR Pro today, and we are working to integrate with other EHRs. If you have any problems getting Tali to work with your EHR, contact us at
Tali is a layer on top of your EHR. You can dictate your notes directly into your EHR or find medical or drug information right inside your EHR. Tali’s integration might be a little deeper with some, like Oscar Pro, but the core functionalities (Ambient Scribe, Medical Dictation and Medical Search) are supported on all EHRs whether web-based or on your desktop.
Yes! You can download Tali for desktop today.
When you first create your account in Tali, you get a free 14 day trial. Throughout that period, you have unlimited access to all our features.
Once your trial ends, you either upgrade to a paid tier, or become a free user. All features are accessible in the free tier, but are limited in the volume of usage.
You can learn about our different pricing tiers here.
You can use Tali in every clinic you work in, as well as at home. You’ll just need to install Tali and log in on each computer that you work on.
We calculate usage based on the length of the audio recordings you make while using Tali's Medical Dictation, or from the number of times you use Ambient Scribe. You have access to the level of usage and reports on time saved within the app; if you have any questions, please feel free to reach out to us at help@tali.ai
Each clinician can arrange their own license, or the clinic can contact us directly to procure multiple licenses or make particular arrangements for training and onboarding. We want to ensure your clinic is successful.
You will be asked to provide your credit card details when you sign up for a paid plan. Your credit card will be billed at the agreed frequency once you've signed up. You can cancel at any time, and once you cancel you'll be able to use the software until the end of your agreed term.
Yes. Once you cancel, you can keep using the software until the end of your agreed term.
Tali’s language model was initially developed as a response to an RFP from the Public Health Agency of Canada. We conducted 6 months of research on only state-of-the-art NLP algorithms to understand if the current algorithms could provide a solution with medical-grade accuracy. We then ran a pilot in Edmonton in the early stages of the COVID-19 pandemic during the Spring of 2020. The feedback gathered from clinicians encouraged us to continue to improve our language model and make it more efficient. Since then, we have gathered more than 20,000 records in different accents to fine-tune our algorithm. We are currently one of the highest-performing voice solutions for clinicians and this is only the beginning.
We have a team of annotators that record proprietary notes and question-answers. We also fine-tune the algorithm after every new recording. This is done securely and with privacy in mind.
Improvements to the algorithm are deployed every few days and you will experience the algorithm performing better instantly. Improvements to the product (feature enhancements or new features) are deployed once every month, as we want to make sure we run proper quality assurance on the product before making it available to physicians at the point of care. These changes will often be invisible to you and will rarely, if ever, require any action on your part.
Application data is stored in Canada for Canadian users, and in the US for users from other countries.
No, the audio is deleted as soon as the transcript is created.
No, we do not and never will use PHI to train our AI.
Lots! First of all, all data is encrypted in transit and at rest. Next, we are very careful with personal information and audio files in particular - for example, we delete audio files from our AI Scribe as soon as the transcript of the visit is created. We store data in the country of use, so for Canadian users that means data is stored in Canadian servers, and for US users, data is stored in US servers. Internally, we limit access to sensitive data even within our team, and all our team members are trained in handling health information, as well as security and privacy topics.
There is more - just reach out to help@tali.ai if you'd like to learn more.
No, we do not share or sell data with third parties, except as we need to provide our service, for example, our billing system will have some customer information.
In these cases, those vendors all agree that they cannot use the data except as needed to provide the service they provide to us.
